Rotary Organizes Shoe Drive To Benefit Nebraska City EDGE

NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City Rotary is organizing a shoe drive to benefit Nebraska City Edge.

Gently worn and new shoes will be accepted at the NCTC office, Shop EZ and Brown’s Shoe Fit through Nov. 6.

Funds2Orgs, an entrepreneurial support company that works in developing countries, will donate to the local family support organization based on the weight of the shoes.

Funds2Orgs will then provide the shoes to entrepreneurs who sell them as a source of income in distressed economies.

Rotarian Stephanie Shrader said it’s a win-win situation.

Shrader: “We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us. By doing so, we raise money for Nebraska City EDGE and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities.”
