NEBRASKA CITY – Nebraska City residents will be treated to a free community picnic in north Wildwood Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 10.
The community appreciation picnic is being organized by TART, a Tourism, Arts, Recreation and Trails group of the Community Prosperity Initiative.
Holly McAdams Olson, director of the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, said the picnic will include a large public art project by a resident of KHN Centers for the Arts.
Olson: “This is just an opportunity to have, with lots of different events that bring tourism into town, this is a chance to really say thank you and get to know, build community among the local community, by inviting them to a picnic.”
Other activities include a free cookout, local music and display of Nebraska City safety equipment.
