Evelyn “Sue” (Simmons) Hager, 72 years of age, of Nebraska City, formerly of Auburn, Nebraska was born on August 26, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to John K. and Ruth (Allis) Simmons. She grew up in Omaha and had all of her schooling there. Sue attended Omaha Tech High School before transferring to Omaha Benson High School. On May 22, 1987, Sue was united in marriage to Terry Hager in Omaha, Nebraska. While living in Omaha, Sue worked as an accountant for Enron and later in accounting for a waste management company. The couple moved to Auburn where they lived for twelve years before moving to Nebraska City. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. She became a resident of Nebraska City Care and Rehabilitation Center when her health began to decline.
Sue passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the Nebraska City Care and Rehabilitation Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska having reached the age of seventy-two years, two months and twenty-six days. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald Simmons.
Sue is survived by her loving husband Terry Hager of Nebraska City, NE; children: James Simmons of Omaha, NE; Tina Holmes of Omaha, NE; Allen Hager and wife Sandy of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Lana Hager of DeWitt, NE; Carol Furnas of Brownville, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at The Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn, Nebraska with Pastor Terry Weible officiating.
Memorials contributions are suggested to the family’s choice with a later designation.
