Henry “Hank” Carpenter, 82, of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was born to Poleat and Danella (Powers) Carpenter on April 27, 1934 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Hank was the youngest of 10 children. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Gaeta in Omaha. They moved to Tecumseh and were long time owners of Tecumseh Furniture.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jane of Tecumseh, children, David Carpenter and wife Teri of FL, Peggy Spence of Aurora, Steven Carpenter and wife Tina of Hutchison, KS and Scott Carpenter of Wichita, KS, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Elmena Keowen, Norman Carpenter, Minnie Carpenter, Myrtle Angell, Eva Lambert, Bessie Booker, Marie Starns, Huey Carpenter and James Carpenter.
Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.
Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Monday, April 24, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Interment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska with full military honors by the Offutt Air Force Funeral Honors Team and the Tecumseh VFW Post #8221 of Tecumseh.
