Julie A. Hafner, age 58 of Nebr. City passed away on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at her home.
Julie was born on October 27, 1958 in Nebr. City, NE; the daughter of Lester “Bud” and G. Bernice (Anderson) Davison. She grew up in the Nebraska City, attending school and graduating from Nebraska City High School with the Class of 1977. She then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha for three years where she studied Veterinary Science.
She married Kenneth George Hafner in Dec. of 1981 in Nebr. City. They later divorced. Julie worked at the Jade Sewing Factory in Nebr. City and for Project Response for 26 years. She was a strong advocate for domestic abuse victims. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nebr. City. Julie loved animals and was very talented at painting and drawing.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Kennetha Hafner and husband Sean El-Shabazz of Nebr. City and Adam Ellison of Nebr. City; 11 grandchildren: Audrey, Cierra, Aliah, Aniyah, A.J., Levi, Addison, Bentley, Jayla, Junior and Zaida; siblings: Lisa Kreifels and sig. other Will Riley and Lori Lewis and husband Simon all of Nebr. City, Leslie Davison of Tarkio, MO and Doug Davison and sig. other Shelly of Council Bluffs, IA; her beloved Chihuahua George; many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; stillborn daughter Melissa Davison on January 14, 1981; sister Cheryl Cass; brothers: David and Michael Davison and infant brothers: Lester and John.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
Burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening (9/8) at the mortuary.
