Kathleen A. “Kathy” Benefiel, age 72 of Hamburg, IA passed away on Saturday; August 5, 2017 at her home.
Kathy was born on October 7, 1944 in Shenandoah, IA; the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Nicholas) Hall. She graduated from Nishna Valley High School in 1962. Kathy was united in marriage to Glen S. “Bud” Benefiel on November 3, 1963 in Strahan, IA and to this union three children were born: Denise, Kent and Linda.
Kathy worked at Pendleton Woolen Mills for a short time and then worked with her husband in the Benefiel Towing and Recovery business for many years. She enjoyed square dancing.
She is survived by her children: Denise Benefiel of Nebr. City, NE, Kent Benefiel and wife Reva of Hamburg, IA; Linda Roseborough and husband John of Roseau, MN; four grandchildren: Zachary Benefiel, Kaitlin Benefiel, Trevor Roseborough and Hunter Roseborough; five sisters: Carol Hascall and husband Harold of Liberty, MO; Karen Millikan and husband Jerry of Red Oak, IA; Connie Collins and husband Dan of Omaha, NE; Kay Godwin and husband Tom of Yale, IA; Chris Govig and husband John of Elliott, IA; other family and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Bud on Jan. 18, 2001 and an infant brother.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg, IA with Curt Crain officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, IA.
