Margaret Iline Madison, age 92 of Sidney, IA died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Hillcrest Care Center in Bellevue, NE following a brief illness. Margaret was born on February 14, 1926 to George Roy Madison and Mary Blanche (Stoddard) Madison near Malvern, IA. She attended Randolph Consolidated School and graduated in 1943. After high school, she worked for a short time as a book keeper at Mount Arbor Nursery, Shenandoah, IA, and then returned home to help with the family farm. On October 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to Richard James Madison of rural Thurman, IA. To this union three children were born. They purchased the family farm near Randolph, IA in 1959. Margaret was a hard-working farm wife, member of the Social Neighbors Club, O.T.O. Club, Randolph Presbyterian Ladies Aide and the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, gardening, raising chickens, selling eggs and cream for many years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant brother, Dwayne; and grandson, Brian Madison. She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Mary Lou Crom and husband, Lawrence of Sidney, IA; daughter, Linda Behrns and husband, Roger of Louisville, NE; son, Duane Madison and wife, Karen of Sidney, IA; grandchildren: Jay Crom, Malvern, IA and friend Shelly, Gretna, NE; Mark Crom and wife, Colleen of Randolph, IA; Melissa (Crom) Misa and husband, Misa of Omaha, NE; Lisa (Behrns) Sedivy and husband, Ben of Lincoln, NE; Amy (Behrns) Bliemeister and husband, Tyler of Omaha, NE; Ryan Behrns and wife, Chevelle of Omaha, NE; Kyle Madison of Nebraska City, NE.; great grandchildren: Gavin & Colin Crom; Rylee & Mckenna Bliemeister; Claire & Ethan Sedivy, Grace Misa; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Madison and wife, Vivian of Everson, WA; and Robert Madison and wife, Dana of Thurman, IA; plus many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Tabor, IA with Pastor Charmayne Harper officiating. Visitations will be open after 5:00 PM and with the family from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor, IA. Memorials will go to the Tabor Congregational United Church of Christ Scholarship Fund and interment will be in the Tabor Cemetery.
