Robert Gene Stanley, 69 of Unadilla, died Sunday, May 13, 2018. Bob was born to Carl E. and Dorothy M. Stanley in 1948 at Lincoln, NE. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1966.

Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, and was awarded the following: Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Leaf; Combat Action Ribbon; Vietnamese Service and Vietnamese Campaign Medals, Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Medal; and Navy Unit Citation. He was awarded The Order of the Silver Rose Medal in 2007 for complications of Agent Orange exposure. His Love of God, Family and Country were foremost in His life.

He trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1976, and now is safely in His presence. He was a member of Syracuse Bible Church. He worked for BNSF Railroad for thirty plus years. He married his wife Cindy in 1986. They enjoyed 32 years of unmatched love, laughter and happiness. He is survived by his wife, children: Carl Stanley and friend Kris Lorensen of Weeping Water, Christina Edgerton and husband Clint of Lincoln, Jason Fisher and wife Jennifer, and Melissa Tenney and husband Christopher of Cook, brothers Dan Stanley and wife Joyce of Lincoln, NE and Ken Stanley and wife Sabine of New Mexico. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren that were the joy of his life. Aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, as well as many cherished friends and neighbors. His passion was to serve others in any way he could. He was preceded in death by his father Carl, mother Dorothy, and first wife Phillis Ann. Memorials are suggested to Syracuse Bible Church.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18 at 10 A.M. at the Syracuse Bible Church located at 100 Parker Dr. in Syracuse. Burial will be at the Unadilla Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5:30-7:30 P.M. all at the funeral home.
