Robert L. McPherrin, 71, of rural Tecumseh, passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, March 17, 2019. He was born to Truman J.and Eva (Truscott) McPherrin on July 14, 1947 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed March 24, 1983 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tecumseh by Rev. Karl Weinrich, later transferring to the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh. Bob attended a country school and then graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1966. After graduating from Nebraska University Tech School at Curtis with an Associates Degree for Agriculture, he returned to Tecumseh to farm with his dad.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Ebeler on January 11, 1974 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Johnson, Nebraska. They have four children, Michael, Scott, Michelle and Kathy.
Bob and Shirley made their home west of Tecumseh where they farmed and raised their family. In 2000 Bob started a spraying service for trees and lawns. After retiring he enjoyed traveling, yardwork, morning coffee and spending time with his family and friends. Bob also loved going to his grandkids sporting events and following Nebraska football and volleyball. He took great pride in improving his farm.
Bob is survived by his wife Shirley of Tecumseh, sons, Michael McPherrin of Tecumseh and Scott McPherrin and wife Ann of Bennet, daughters, Michelle Faulkner and husband John of Omaha and Kathy Maes and husband Jeff of Pinedale, WY, grandchildren, Wyat and Gage Faulkner, Jessica Romera, Karrie Jaquez, Trentin and Brandon McPherrin, Sadie Koelzer and Brooke, Serena,Selisha, Katheryn, Madelynn and Evelynn McPherrin, great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Kaedynce Romero, Kolbyn, Natalynn and Graedyn Jaquez and Carter Koelzer, sister, Maggie Doyle of Beatrice and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Rob Clark officiating.
Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6- 8 p.m.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
