Sharon Kay (Johnson) Eaton passed away peacefully on April 22, 2019 at CHI Health St. Mary’s in Nebraska City; surrounded by her family. Sharon was born in Hamburg Iowa October 19, 1953 to Edward (Gus) and Peggy Johnson. She attended public schools in Percival Iowa and graduated from Sidney Iowa in 1971 where she was a head cheerleader and nominated for Homecoming Queen. She attended Nebraska City Beauty School after high school graduation. She then worked for Glenwood Resource Center in Glenwood Iowa for 25 years as a Resident Treatment Worker. She also did hair out of her home for several family and friends for many years.

She was united in marriage to Charles Eaton of Nebraska City NE September 9, 1972. They had three amazing children and lived in Sidney Iowa for most of their lives. They moved to their family farm in Union Nebraska for several years before moving back to Nebraska City late last year.
For anyone that knew Sharon, knew she enjoyed Shopping!!! She also enjoyed reading, sewing, decorating, making jewelry, cooking and again shopping! She loved to make everyone laugh with her sharp wit and amazing sense of humor that definitely kept everyone on their toes; especially her children. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; whether it was camping and boating or just getting together to cook a huge meal, “That looks like no one had even ate!”. She was the type of person that would bend over backwards to help anyone. She was a very loving and compassionate person and you were never a stranger in her eyes.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband Charles Eaton of Nebraska City; Terry Eaton (son) and wife Jessie-(granddaughters) Taylor and Victoria of Sidney IA; Christina Scharfen (daughter) and (grandson) Jaxon of Nebraska City NE; John Eaton (son) and wife Jennifer- (granddaughter) Callie of Union NE. Susan Gray of Texas-(Sister); Nancy Vaughn (niece) and husband Brandon of Texas; Nicki Raymond (niece) and husband Jeff of Glenwood; Steven Johnson-(brother) and wife Glenda of Shenandoah ;TJ Johnson (nephew) and wife Kendra; J.W. Johnson (nephew) and Rachel Johnson (niece) of Shenandoah. Erica Runyon-(niece) and Husband Jimmy of Shenandoah; Marion Millet-(sister in law) of Florida; Rene Tilchin (niece) of Florida. Donna Daniels (sister in law) and husband Bob of Texas. And many other nephews and nieces.
Sharon is pre-deceased by: Edward (Gus) and Peggy Johnson (parents); Louis and Eva Eaton (father in law and mother in law); Sandy Strange (sister); Jim Strange (brother in law); Roger Gray (brother in law) and Megan Foster (niece). She will truly be missed by so many other friends and family.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Sidney, IA with Rev. Jan Phillips of the Thurman United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be open after 5:00 PM Thursday, and the family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Sidney, Iowa Cemetery and memorials will go to Family’s choice.
