WARREN DAVID GREGORY, age 82 of Tabor, IA died Tuesday January 1, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine Bellevue Hospital following a brief illness. David was born June 18, 1936 in Omaha, NE to Warren Gilbert Gregory and Mariann (Driskell) Gregory. David attended Sunnyside Country School and graduated from Tabor High School. He attended Iowa State University then the University of Nebraska before returning home to work in the family Agribusiness. He was married January 5, 1991 to Janet Earp at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Tabor, IA where he was a long time member.
In his younger years, David was a member of the Tabor Volunteer Fire Department. He served on the Board of Directors of the Fremont Mills School District from 1974 to 1978. He was awarded the honorary Chapter farmer for vocational agriculture FFA. Even with declining health in the later years, he was still very interested in the day to day farming and livestock operation.
David will be missed. His influence will remain. Just as God gives us our loved ones and does not lose them in giving, likewise we do not lose them in returning them to him – for life and love are eternal.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janet Gregory of Tabor, IA; 2 daughters, Dana Gregory Ball and husband William of Valparaiso, NE and Kay Gregory Berguin of Mesa, AZ; 2 sons, Michael James Gregory of Kingfisher, OK and Warren David (Greg) Gregory and wife Jenna of Sidney, IA; 9 grandchildren, Darrin Hansen and husband Andy, Randi Shirley and husband Justin, Jason Gregory, Jared Gregory, Ruth Ellen Gregory, Wesley Ball, Jesse Ball, Frank Berguin and Michael (Lou) Berguin,4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, James Gregory and wife Sandra of Randolph, IA and Grant Gregory and wife Karen of Greenwich, CT; sister-in-law Judith Simons and husband Gerald Simons, MD of Omaha, NE; numerous nieces nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Tabor, IA Congregational United Church of Christ with Mr. Gary Moles officiating. Visitations will be open after 5:00 PM Friday with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor, IA. Memorials will go to the Tabor Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Association or the Tabor Congregational United Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Tabor, Iowa Cemetery.
