WILLIAM WARD GARREANS, age 94 of Nevada, MO formerly of Harrison, AR and Tabor, IA, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Morningside Assisted Living Center in Nevada following a brief illness. Bill was born September 30, 1924 to Ernest Lanford Garreans and Mable Irene (Yost) Garreans. On May 6, 1950, he was married to Betty Jean Rice in Tabor. Bill served in the US Navy during World War II and later in Korea. He worked as a Manager with Allied Chemical Company for many years. He and Betty enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Texas.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; 3 infant children, Shirley Jean, William Ward and Terry Joe Garreans; 2 sisters, Marjorie Garreans and Oneita Fisher; and 3 brothers, Lyle, Robert and Ross Garreans. He is survived his son, Roy Garreans of Schell City, MO; grandson, William Lee Garreans; brother, Terry Garreans of Bellevue, NE; sister, Ramona Hickey and husband David of California; numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Tabor, IA Cemetery with Rev. Jan Phillips of the Tabor United Methodist Church officiating. Visitations will be open after 5:00 PM Friday with the family greeting friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor, IA.
