PERU – Wayne Albury returns to the helm of the Bobcats’ baseball program after last year’s second-place finish in the Heart of America  Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division.

Last year, Peru State went 32-20 overall and finished with a 21-11 conference mark. The ‘Cats finished five games behind Clarke (Iowa) in the North Division. The Pride finished ranked 19th in the NAIA last year.

This spring, the team will have some quality returners, six of whom received Heart all-conference recognition, from last season, as well as, several newcomers at different positions. The team expects a lot of these newcomers to make an impact right away and blend in well with the returning members. The Bobcats will look to replace four seniors in the field as well as four pitchers.

The Bobcat baseball team will first be in action February 9 at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas.
