Baker pulls away from Peru State Monday

PERU – The Bobcat women’s basketball team was within two points midway through the third quarter with the visiting Baker (Kan.) Wildcats.

Baker would score the next 12 straight points and would never have a lead less than double digits the rest of the way in the contest. The Wildcats won 69-51 over Peru State Monday night in Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) action.

Brooke Maeda had a season-high 17 points for the Bobcats. Giovanna Silva finished with a double-double – 13 points, 12 rebounds.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 14-7 on the season and are now 9-6 in conference play. Peru State fell to 2-17 on the year and are 1-14 in the Heart.
