PERU – It was windy. It was smoky for some time. It was cool. It was not a clean-played game. But, there were lots of hits.

Those are just a few things to describe the nine-inning, non-conference baseball game between the visiting York Panthers and the Peru State Bobcats Tuesday afternoon.

The four runs scored by the ‘Cats in the bottom of the seventh broke a 10-10 tie and the Bobcats went on to win 15-10.

Peru State improved to 9-4 while York fell to 6-15.

It will be back to Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) action on Saturday and Sunday. The Bobcats will be hosting Mount Mercy (Iowa) in a four-game Heart North series. The double headers each day will start at 1 p.m. The Mustangs are currently 10-11 on the year and are 2-2 in the Heart North.
