Bobcat Baseball Wins Series with Mount Mercy

PERU – Mother Nature continues to not play nice and do what the weather forecasters want. But, that did not stop the Peru State Bobcat baseball team from taking three of four from the visiting Mount Mercy Mustangs over the weekend.

The ‘Cats swept the games on Saturday 4-2 and 7-4. On Sunday, the Bobcats took game one 9-2 before falling in the night cap 8-4.

With the three wins, Peru State improved to 12-5 overall and are now 6-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) North Division.

Mount Mercy fell to 11-14 on the season and are 3-5 in the Heart North.

The Bobcats will play a pair of seven-inning non-conference games Tuesday in Lindsborg, Kan., against the Bethany Swedes. Bethany is presently 12-11 on the year.
