Bobcat Volleyball Wins Third-Straight Conference Match

OSKALOOSA, IA – Starting their first match of three weeks on the road, the Peru State volleyball team swept William Penn (WPU) in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Tuesday night.

The Bobcats won 25-20, 25-20, 25-22 to improve to 9-10 overall and 7-3 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). The Statesmen fell for 7-16 on the season and are now 2-9 in conference action.

Kira Shapiro was the only hitter in double figures as she finished with 11 kills and hit a very respectable .391. Brooke Rudebusch led all setters with 22 assists. Cristina Viera also had a match-high 21 digs.

On Friday, they will be in Atchison, Kan., to face Benedictine at 7 p.m. The Ravens had won four matches in a row before losing to Central Methodist (Mo.) Tuesday night at home. Benedictine is 13-6 overall and 6-5 in the Heart.
