FAYETTE, Mo. – It was a sweep for the home-standing Central Methodist (CMU) Eagles over the visiting Bobcat softball team on Sunday. But, it was not easy as Peru State pushed CMU in both games in Fayette, Mo.
With the wins, the Eagles, who are receiving votes in the most recent NAIA coaches’ poll, improve to 14-8 overall and 6-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). The ‘Cats fell to 2-12 on the season and are 1-5 in conference play.
It appears Mother Nature will cooperate and allow Peru State to finally play some home games. The Bobcats are to host contests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday of this week.
On Tuesday, Grand View (Iowa) will be the opponent for a Heart double header beginning at 3 p.m. The Vikings are presently 7-4 on the year and 1-1 in conference play.
The Bobcats will host another Iowa Heart foe on Wednesday as Clarke visits the Centennial Complex Field. The Crusaders are 2-7 overall and 0-4 in Heart action.
Friday’s opponent is Evangel (Mo.). for another double header with this one beginning at 2 p.m. The Crusaders are 10-8 on the year and are 1-5 in Heart competition.
