PERU, Neb. – For the second week in a row, a Peru State football player was named as the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Special Teams Player of the Week.
Junior wide receiver David Bond (New Port Richey, Fla.) was named as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
The 6-6, 235 pounder, had one of his best days as a kick returner and as a receiver in a Bobcat uniform. Bond returned five kick offs for a total of 115 yards with his longest being 41 yards.
In addition, Bond caught five passes in the loss to #2 Baker (Kan.) for a total of 72 yards with his longest reception going to 36 yards.
Bond is now second on the team in kick returns after his strong performance against the Wildcats.
This is Bond’s first time earning a Heart honor. Last week, senior wide receiver A.J. Flodman (Hickman) was the Heart’s Special Teams honoree.
