Five Peru State Volleyball Players Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

PERU, Neb. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced Friday that 556 volleyball student-athletes have been named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Five Peru State volleyball players were named to the list.

Graduate student Brooke Rudebusch (Moorpark, Calif.), seniors Meg Grose (Peoria, Ariz.) and Raechel Knowles (Nassau, Bahamas), and juniors Nadja Janjevic (Podgorica, Montenegro) and Kira Shapiro (Omaha) were among the 556 honored.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Rudebusch is a graduate student while Grose is an early childhood education inclusive B-3 major. Knowles is a K-12 special education major. Janjevic is a management major while Shapiro is a double major in psychology and sport and exercise science.
