Storyline: Wayne State’s defense turned in another strong performance as the Wildcats held SW Minnesota to two field goals. For the season, Wayne is allowing 16.6 points per game and has held four opponents to 14 or fewer points.

Star of the game: Wayne running back Rashad Trimble rushed for 159 yards on 25 carries. His 52-yard TD run with 3:54 left secured the win after Southwest pulled within 13-6 with 6:52 remaining.

Notable: Quarterback Zach Osborn, who missed last week’s game with an injury, went 14 of 30 for 147 yards and a TD pass to Nate Rogers.

Storyline: Chadron suffered its second straight road loss as Dixie State scored the final 14 points. After Chadron’s Derek Jackson scored from 19 yards out with 13:45 left to tie it at 24-all, Dixie scored three minutes later.

Star of the game: Dixie quarterback Malik Watson was 15 of 25 for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those scores came in the final 19 minutes.

Notable: Chadron got TDs from its defense and special teams, but Dixie State outgained the Eagles in total yardage 516-288.

Storyline: The top-ranked Bearcats led 7-3 with 12 minutes left before a Jordan Thompson TD run and a Brett Garner field goal gave them some breathing room. Central Oklahoma scored its TD with 1:34 left, but Northwest recovered an onside kick and ran the clock out.

Star of the game: Ben Althoff led Northwest’s defense with 10 tackles, including one of the Bearcats’ five sacks.

Notable: Omaha North grad Zach Martin went 22 of 43 for 292 yards for Northwest. He’s thrown for 1,611 yards this season.

Storyline: Central Missouri seized control by scoring twice in the first half’s final minute to take a 21-point lead to halftime. After scoring with 59 seconds left, the Mules recovered an onside kick and scored again with 24 seconds left.

Star of the game: Brook Bolles, a Lincoln North Star grad, passed for 325 yards and a TD and rushed for two touchdowns.

Notable: Central Missouri finished with 529 yards while the defense held UNK to 199 yards. Thomas Russell led the Lopers with 72 yards rushing.

Player to watch: Hastings quarterback Anthony Cloyd rushed for 167 yards and a TD on 10 carries and was as efficient through the air, going 8 of 11 for 156 yards and two TDs to Noah Housh.

Notable: Noah Ylagan broke Briar Cliff’s records for rushing attempts (41) and rushing yards (218) in a game. Mitch Heikes had held both those records.

Stars of the game: All the stars were out for Morningside. QB Trent Solsma was 25 of 38 for 371 yards and five TDs; Bubba Jenkins rushed 23 times for 206 yards and four TDs, while Connor Niles had 12 catches for 151 yards and two TDs.

Notable: The 76 points were the most Morningside has scored since putting up 87 last September against Dordt.

Star of the game: Dordt’s Levi Jungling caught 10 passes for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Notable: Doane had won the previous nine meetings with Dordt by an average margin of 38 points.

Star of the game: Northwestern QB Tyson Kooima went 19 of 32 for 262 yards and accounted for two touchdowns.

Notable: Northwestern’s defense stiffened in the second half as Midland gained 266 of its 338 yards before halftime.
