PERU – In addition to Mother Nature throwing a wrench into the Peru State baseball team’s plans for the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) Postseason tournament, so did the Mount Mercy (Iowa) Mustangs.

Mother Nature forced a postponement of the game which had started on Friday at the US Baseball Park in Ozark, Mo., with Mount Mercy leading 5-1 in the top of the seventh inning. The game resumed Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and the Mustangs advanced in the tournament with a 14-2 win.

Peru State finished its season 20-24 which is just the second losing season in Coach Wayne Albury‘s eight years at the helm.

Fifteen seniors have completed their eligibility on the team.
