New Coach Bob Ludwig Claims First Victory with Peru State Basketball

VALLEY CITY, N.D. –  With an almost entirely new starting lineup, the Peru State men’s basketball team opened its 2017-18 season with a win over Valley City State (VCSU) in Valley City, N.D., on Halloween night. The Bobcats convincingly won 87-63.

Peru State starts its season 1-0 while the Vikings fall to 1-2 on the year.

Four Bobcats finished in double figures and were led by Quantice Hunter’s game-high 19 points on 9 of 14 shooting. Marcus Nolan added 13 points while LJ Westbrook and Noah Vasa each finished with 12 points.

Peru State is playing another game in North Dakota on Wednesday before heading back to the Campus of a Thousand Oaks. The Bobcats will be facing Mayville State in Mayville, N.D., at 7 p.m. The Comets are 1-0 having defeated Providence College 111-52 on Oct. 27.
