Peru State baseball takes three of four from Graceland

PERU, NE – The Peru State baseball team had enough gas to take three of four games from the visiting Graceland (Iowa) Yellowjackets this weekend. The ‘Cats took the first three games 8-1, 4-0, and 13-12 before the tank ran a little low and Graceland took the final game 9-4 late Sunday afternoon.

With the three wins, Peru State improved to 14-5 overall and are now 7-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). For the Yellowjackets, their record is now 5-19 and they won their first conference game and are now 1-7.

Peru State’s Tuesday game with Bethany in Lindsborg, Kan., was moved to Monday due to anticipated cooler temperatures in Kansas in 24 hours. This will be a nine-inning game beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Swedes are presently 17-11 overall.
