Peru State comes back from six-runs down to win 22nd game of the season

ORANGE CITY – The Peru State baseball team scored ten runs in the last two innings to pull off a 15-12 win in Orange City, Iowa, on Wednesday over Northwestern.

The Bobcats trailed 11-5 heading into the top of the eighth inning when they scored six runs to tie it up at 11-11. After holding the Red Raiders from scoring in the bottom of the eighth, the ‘Cats added four more runs in the top of the ninth and then allowed just one run in the bottom of the ninth for their 22nd win of the season.

Peru State is now 22-11 on the year while Northwestern fell to 15-15.

Peru State will be back in action on Friday when they host Central Methodist (Mo.) in a pair of Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) games beginning at 1 p.m. The double header was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was moved up a day due to the pending weather on Saturday. The 24th-ranked Eagles are 28-8 on the year and are 16-4 in the Heart South.
