OSKALOOSA, IA – In an invitational won by the hosts and their “B” team taking second, the Peru State women’s golf team finished fourth in a tough field in the Mike “Fluff” Cowan Invitational in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The Iowa Intercollegiate Championship was hosted by William Penn University.
The Statesmen took first and second in the invite with two day scores of 622 and 660 respectively. Baker (Kan.) was third with a 673 while the Bobcats finished fourth with a 696 – one stroke better than Simpson (Iowa).
Mount Mercy (Iowa) was sixth with a score of 713 and Missouri Valley finished seventh with a total of 728. Iowa Wesleyan was eighth with a two-day total of 894.
The ‘Cats were led by Marisa Pribnow (Lincoln) who finished sixth with a two-day total of 158. Pribnow had rounds of 80 and 78 and was named to the tournament’s second team.
Peru State will not have any additional tournaments until the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament which will take place in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on the same course they played on during Monday and Tuesday’s tournament. The championship will be held May 8 and 9.
