Peru State football among NAIA stat leaders

PERU – The Peru State football team is ranked this week in 16 different team statistics in the NAIA with the total rushing offense yardage of 1,201 being ranked 11th in the country. This is through five games for the Bobcats and six weeks of play in the NAIA.

The Bobcats’ other team rankings include: 12th in rushing offense per game (240.20), 12th in sacks against (1.200), 14th in total sacks against (6.000), 25th in opponent penalties (271), 27th in 4th down conversion (50.000), 29th in field goal percentage (0.667), 31st in pass defense per game (194.000), 33rd in 3rd down conversion (39.700), 36th in punt return yards per attempt (10.400), 40th in PAT Kicking (0.929), 43rd in scoring defense per game (27.000), 44th in kickoff return yards per attempt (19.400), 45th in pass defense efficiency (123.600), and 45th in total defense per game (366.000).

In the Heart of America Athletic Conference, Peru State is in the following top five team statistics: tied for first in sack against per game (1.2), tied for first in total sacks against (6.0), third in rushing offense per game (240.2), third in total rushing offense (1,201), tied for third in field goal percentage (0.667), fourth in opponent penalties (271), tied for fourth in 4th down conversion (50.00), fifth in PAT kicking percentage (0.929), fifth in punt returns per game (10.4) and tied for fifth in scoring defense per game (27.0).

Several Peru State players are among the national leaders in several categories. Stephen Bowers (La Vista) is 16th in fumbles forced per game (0.400). In addition, Bowers is 45th in total sacks (3.00). Colton Audsley (Prescott Valley, Ariz.) is 19th in kickoff return yards per attempt (26.100) and 24th in total kickoff returns (235). Also, Audsley is 40th in all purpose yards (573) and 47th in all purpose yards per game (114.600). 

John Brady (Hickman) is 31st in field goal percentage (0.667), 45th in total field goals (2), 48th in field goals per game (0.400), and 48th in PAT kicking percentage (0.929). Dylan King (Vancouver, Wash.) is 31st in fumbles forced per game (0.300).

Tajh Eaddy (Spencerport, N.Y.) is 37th in rushing yards per game (82.000) while Luis Constantino (Varzea Grande, Brazil) is 45th in total sacks (3.000).

Players listed in the top five of Heart individual statistics include: Bowers – tied for second in fumbles forced per game (0.4), Audsley – tied for third in kickoff return per game (26.1),  Brady – tied for third in field goal percentage (0.667), Audsley – fifth in kickoff return yards (235), and Eaddy – tied for fifth in rushing per game (82.0),

The 2-3 Bobcats will be back in action this coming Saturday when they host the 17th-ranked Baker Wildcats in Baldwin City, Kan., at 2 p.m. in the Oak Bowl. It will be Peru State’s homecoming.
