PERU – There will be plenty of activities taking place on Saturday, February 3, in the Al Wheeler Activity Center (AWAC), with the Peru State National Alumni Chili Feed being the highlight of the day.
The activities will begin with a Bobcat women’s basketball game against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) beginning at 2 p.m. A men’s game with the Wildcats will begin at approximately 4:30 p.m.
The annual alumni chili feed will start at 2:30 p.m. A free will donation will be accepted.
“The National Alumni Association is proud to welcome alumni and Peru State supporters to campus for the annual Chili Feed,” said Arlene Fell, NAA Co-Chair. “We hope to see a large crowd for food, fun and basketball.”
During both halftimes, the Fantastic Flyers of Gary’s Tumbling of Glenwood, Iowa, will perform. If you have not seen the Fantastic Flyers, you will have a treat coming as the team presents a show of acrobatics and tumbling.
Between the two basketball games, the Peru State athletic department will recognize student-athletes from the fall sports who received both athletic and/or academic honors.
Admission prices for the basketball games are: Adults – $8, Seniors (age 65 and older) – $7, and Students (Ages 7-17) – $5.
Copies of “Shaping the Future Since 1867,” the College’s Sesquicentennial book written by Dan Sullivan, will be available for sale. Also, the Cat Cave will be in the AWAC so alumni and fans can purchase some new Bobcat gear.
The Peru State Admissions Office will be hosting a Winter Tailgate event in conjunction with the chili feed. The event will include a tour of campus and an overview of the College. A prospective student and three guests will gain admission to the basketball games. For more information, contact the Admissions Office!
So, mark February 3 on your calendar and head to the Campus of a Thousand Oaks for an enjoyable day!
