Peru State hosts annual golf tournament
The winning team (l to r): Tom Ragland, Darrin Bouray, Brent Travis, and Nate Easley

PERU – The Peru State Athletic Department held their annual golf tournament on May 25 at the Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City.  Thirty-four teams participated in the event this year. Mother Nature provided plenty of sunshine, actually maybe too much as it was one of the hottest days of the year on the golf course. Thankfully, there was a little wind to help cool the golfers.

The team led by Nate Easley (Nebraska City) won the Championship Flight with a score of 53 in the four-person scramble. On the winning team with Easley were Darrin Bouray (Shenandoah, Iowa), Brent Travis (Nebraska City), and Tom Ragland (Nebraska City).

Golf tournament lead organizer, Brenda Lutz – the project coordinator for the athletic department, was pleased with the turnout and how the event ran.  Lutz said, “We were very excited to have a great tournament and appreciate all of the businesses and individuals whom supported the event.  Without their generous donations, we would not be able to have an event of this nature.”

Next year’s tournament will be held May 24, 2019, at Table Creek.
