Peru State Moves into NAIA Top-25 at No. 23

PERU, Neb. – After its win over then-22nd ranked MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) on Saturday in the Oak Bowl, the Peru State Bobcat football team moved into the latest NAIA rankings at #23.

Defending national champion Saint Francis (Ind.) continues to hold the No. 1 ranking in the 2017 NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday. The Cougars, who were the unanimous choice once again, garnered 366 total points.

The Bobcats had been receiving votes last week and joined the rankings this week over their second-straight win over an opponent who was ranked or receiving votes.

Peru State will have an opportunity to improve their standings this week as they travel to Baldwin City, Kan., to face the second-ranked Baker Wildcats.
