Peru State splits doubleheader with Sterling

STERLING, Kan. – The Bobcat baseball team split a pair of games in Sterling, Kan., on Wednesday. Peru State won the opener 9-3 and led 4-1 before Sterling put up six in the bottom of the sixth to eventually win 7-5 in the second game.

With the split, the ‘Cats are now 8-11 on the season. The Warriors are presently 11-15 on the year.

Peru State will be on the road again this Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, to Canton, Mo., for a three-game Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) series. The games were originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but rain is expected in eastern Missouri on Sunday. The Bobcats will play one game on Friday at 1 p.m. against Culver-Stockton and then a double header on Saturday, also beginning at 1 p.m. The Wildcats are presently 6-14 overall and are 2-5 in the Heart.
