PERU – The Grand View Viking softball team swept a softball double header in two hard-fought battles with the home-standing Peru State Bobcats.

The Vikings, who were receiving votes in the most recent coaches’ Top 25 poll, took the first game 2-0 and then captured the second game 6-2.

With the win, Grand View improves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart). Peru State falls to 2-14 on the year and 1-7 in conference play.

Peru State will be right back in action on Wednesday as they host another conference double header with Clarke (Iowa) beginning at noon. The Pride are presently 2-7 on the season and are winless with four losses in Heart action.
