LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Peru State women’s golf team finished in the fourth place in the two-day Baker Fall Invitational which was held in Lawrence, Kan., on the Eagle Bend Golf Course.
The Bobcats were in fourth after the first day and stayed in fourth despite having a higher team score on the second day.
Barton County (Kan.) CC won the invite with a two-day total of 623 which was 30 strokes better than the second place team – Rockhurst (Mo.) – who finished with 653. The host Baker team finished third with a two-day total of 743.
Peru State was fourth with a 794 having shot a 402 team total on Thursday after shooting 392 on Wednesday. Barton CC B was fifth with a total score of 823.
There were additional golfers competing, including several from the University of Kansas, so many levels of competition were featured in the meet.
Taylor Finke led the Bobcat golfers as she finished in a tie for 16th as she had consecutive rounds of 86 for a two-day total of 172.
The Bobcats will be playing in their final meet of the fall season next Monday and Tuesday when they compete in the Osage National Invitational, which in essence is the Heart of America Athletic Conference Fall Preview. The invite will be held in Lake Ozark, Mo.
