Weather forces changes to Peru State’s weekend softball plans

WICHITA, Kan. It appears Mother Nature is going to have a big outcome in the spring sports again this season as she did last year.

It has been announced that the Friends University Invitational for Friday and Saturday has been cancelled. However, four teams will play a quadrangular in Wichita, Kan., on Friday as a result of the cancellation of the entire event.

Peru State will be one of those four teams playing on Friday and will play the hosts at noon. At 2 p.m., the Bobcats will face Bethany (Kan.) and will finish the day playing Doane at 4 p.m.

The Falcons of Friends are 3-6 on the season having won their last two contests. The Swedes are 5-5 having won four out of their last five. The Doane Tigers are 4-3 having lost three of their last four contests.

Peru State is 0-3 having played two weeks ago in Arkansas.

All of the games will be livestreamed with the links available at www.pscbobcats.com.

The ‘Cats are scheduled to play against Tabor (Kan.) and Southwestern (Kan.) on March 6 and 7 weather contingent. Please watch the Peru State athletic website, Facebook, and/or Twitter for updates.
