Bellevue homicide victim had landed a good job, his mother says
Brian Faeller and his mother, Michelle Faeller Bridger.

Brian Faeller had landed a good job and was living on his own.

He admitted to his mother that he had made mistakes in his life, but he wanted to move forward.

“I kept reminding him that it didn’t matter what he did, I still loved him, he just needed to turn around, and that’s exactly what he was doing,” said his mother, Michelle Faeller Bridger.

Faeller Bridger was heartbroken when she found out he had been fatally shot Tuesday at his Bellevue apartment complex Tuesday.

Faeller, 23, was going to start work at an Omaha hair and beauty products manufacturer this coming Monday. Instead, his visitation will be that night and his funeral will be the next day.

“He was a good-hearted kid, he went around and helped everybody,” Faeller Bridger said.

Well-wishers have told Faeller Bridger that her son was funny and respected. He was well-known by local restaurant owners where he often would get Southern or Mexican food.

In 2017, Faeller pleaded no contest to being an accessory to a felony and was sentenced to three years’ probation. Prosecutors said he hindered authorities in their efforts to find a man who later was charged with firing a gun at a residence.

Faeller Bridger said her son learned his lesson from spending time in jail before he was sentenced to probation.

“He read the Bible, talked to me all the time about, ‘I shouldn’t have done this, I should have done better,’ ” she said. “He made one bad mistake. He was with the wrong crowd.”

Faeller loved playing basketball on his Xbox, watching the Dallas Cowboys and having barbecues with his friends and family.

“He’s gonna be missed and loved by everyone,” his mother said. “He touched so many hearts.”

Faeller’s visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Bellevue Memorial Chapel, 2202 Hancock St.

His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James West United Methodist Church, 4343 Capehart Road. His burial will be at a later date.
