Man tries to pass stab wound off as cooking accident

LINCOLN, Neb. – A 33-year-old man entered a Lincoln hospital with a stab wound on Monday morning, but attempted to tell officers it was a cooking accident.

The victim arrived at the hospital around 2:30 a.m., after an incident at Magnuson Hotel, located at 3400 NW 12th Street.

The victim told police that he was cooking and he accidentally stumbled into a knife. Police said the man was bleeding severely upon arrival at the hospital.

After an investigation, police determined the man had been drinking heavily with a woman, and believe the woman stabbed him.

There have not yet been any arrests made, and the investigation is still ongoing.
