Omaha Teen Acused of Causing a Crash

OMAHA, Nebraska. – An Omaha teen-ager is accused of distracted driving, running a red light and causing a crash with at least one serious injury.

The teen is identified a 16-year-old Joel Ortiz Jimenez, who was sent to the hospital with cuts to his leg.

One of his passengers 24-year-old Jose Ceballos has serious chest injuries.

A 13-year-old girl in the back seat broke her leg.

According to police, Jimenez blew through a red light at 60th and Grover late Sunday afternoon colliding with another car which then crashed into a third car.

One of the other drivers, 28-year-old Kari Anderson of Omaha, was ticketed for fake plates and no insurance.
