Pedestrian sustains life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicle

LINCOLN, Neb. – A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in Lincoln.

The incident took place on Capitol Parkway west of 27th Street around 6:25 a.m.

The pedestrian did not use a nearby crosswalk, police said, and was struck by a 2011 Honda Civic, driven by a 42-year-old male.

The pedestrian, identified as Millard Wells, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, underwent surgery, and is considered to be stable as of Friday morning.
