BURWELL – Governor Pete Ricketts and Department of Transportation Director Kyle Schneweis announced a record $600 million investment in infrastructure in 2019.
The announcement took place at a press conference at the home of Burwell residents Tony and Katie Larson on Friday morning. It was part of a tour that Ricketts and Schneweis were taking throughout the state, announcing planned projects in local areas.
The investment money comes from a combination of federal and state funds. The Build Nebraska Act as well as the Transportation Innovation Act are contributing to the state funds for the investment.
Over 90 projects are being planned over the next five years to improve roads, bridges, and expressways throughout Nebraska, to continue to grow the state through improved means of transportation.
