Ricketts Says Renamed Departments Will Save Money

LINCOLN, Neb. – Governor Ricketts has  unveiled the new name and logo for the Department of Transportation.

The Department of Roads and the Department of Aeronautics were officially merged on July 1.

“This merger of our infrastructure-focused agencies is creating efficiencies, which will allow us to put more money on the airstrips and roads without sacrificing jobs,” said Governor Ricketts.

“We have already realized some of the opportunities this partnership offers to optimize services and look forward to finding more,” said Kyle Schneweis, who heads up the new department. “This evolution supports the State’s commitment to a more efficient and effective government, focused on customer service,” he added.
