Would Be Bank Bomber Gets Probation

LINCOLN, Nebraska. – A 58-year-old man convicted of trying to rob a bank and threatening to blow it up isn’t going to jail, at least not yet.

James Fitzsimmons has been sentenced to 4 years probation and ordered to pay $1,200 in fines for his attempted robbery of a US Bank last July.

Fitzsimmons made headlines after he handed a drive thru teller a note demanding money and threatening to bomb the bank remotely.
